Ulster GAA Writers’ Association

Quinn Group is new sponsor for Ulster GAA Writers.

QUINN-Insurance Limited has launched its sponsorship deal with the Ulster GAA Writers’ Association (UGAAWA). This includes sponsorship of the Monthly Merit and Annual awards for the next five years. The QUINN-Insurance/UGAAWA Awards reinforces the company’s proud tradition of supporting Gaelic Games both locally and nationally. Commenting on the launch, QUINN-group Director; Donal O’Rourke said “QUINN-Insurance and QUINN-group, have a long standing relationship with the GAA and we didn’t hesitate when approached earlier this year to take up this sponsorship. We feel the next five years will be mutually beneficial to both parties and we very much look forward to working with the UGAAWA and Ulster GAA”.

UGAAWA Chairman Jerry Quinn said “Today is something of a rebirth of the Ulster GAA Writers’ Association after 22 years. The Ulster GAA Writers’ Association was formed in May 1988 with the purpose of increasing public interest in Gaelic Games within Ulster. All members of the Association are full-time working journalists dealing with GAA matters at local or national level. The QUINN-Insurance/UGAAWA Monthly Merit Award is made to persons within the GAA whom the Association feel have done something special during the month. This award can go to anyone within the GAA – football (male & female), hurling, camogie, handball, Scor, etc.
